Accessing your data from the WFS connection

Available with Production Mapping license.

To edit your data and publish back to the service, you'll need to access your data from the WFS connection in ArcMap.

Note:

The WFS has to have transactional capability enabled to edit features.

1. You will need to have added a connection in ArcMap to connect to your WFS service.

   For more information, see Adding a WFS connection.

2. Double-click the WFS connection in the Catalog window.
3. If you would like to preview the service, right-click the connection and click Preview.

   Preview will only work if the WFS service has an active, related WMS service.

4. Zoom in to your area of interest.
5. Drag the feature classes you want from the service to the map.

   Only the features that intersect the current extent will be consumed. You can now edit your data in an edit session.

6. Once you have edited your features, save your edits in the current session and stop the edit session.

   You are now ready to publish your edits to the service.
