In Esri Production Mapping 10.3, several changes have been made to enhance the editing experience.
New at 10.3.1 Patch 1
Geoprocessing
This release adds a new geoprocessing tool to the Esri Production Mapping toolbox: WFS To Geodatabase— Imports Web Feature Service (WFS) data into a geodatabase. Data can be imported based on a specific area of interest.
WFS-T
The ability to import, edit, and publish changes to Web Feature Service Transactional (WFS-T) data has been added to the Catalog window. Enabling transactions on the service allows for spatial and attribution changes to be communicated to the WFS data.

Geoprocessing toolset
The Editing toolset has been added to the Esri Production Mapping toolbox. Its tools streamline bulk editing to features in a feature class. The toolset contains the following two tools:
Geoprocessing tool
The Repair Bad Geometry geoprocessing tool has been added to the Editing toolset. It repairs geometry errors or generates a report with problems found for manual review.
Other enhancements
The following enhancements have been added:
- Fill Gaps—The tool now has the option to fill based on the longest shared edge or the order of the feature layer inputs. Unenclosed gaps that fall within a given distance can also be filled.
- Node Renderer—The size of the symbols used to represent the dangles, nodes, and pseudo nodes can be changed.

Geoprocessing tools
This release adds the following three new geoprocessing tools to the Production Mapping toolbox:
- Fill Gaps—Fills enclosed and unenclosed gaps that exist between polygon features.
- Generalize Shared Features—Performs the selected simplify and smooth operations on a line or polygon feature class.
- VPF To Geodatabase—Imports Vector Product Format (VPF) into a geodatabase. This tool replaces the command that previously existed in ArcCatalog.
