An overview of overlay classes

Available with Spatial Analyst license.

Weighted overlay objects define the reclassification that will be used to put diverse or dissimilar input rasters into a common scale of values and the weights to be applied to perform an integrated analysis. The input rasters are reclassified or weighted by importance and added together to produce an output raster.

WOTable

Defines the input rasters, the field identifying the input values, the remap of their values, the weight of each raster, and the evaluation scale to use in the Weighted Overlay tool.

WSTable

Defines the input rasters and their weights which will be added together in the WeightedSum tool.

Tools that use the overlay objects are

  • Weighted Overlay uses WOTable.
  • Weighted Sum uses WSTable.
