Geoprocessing service settings: Item Description

  • Item Description

Item Description

The Item Description page is where you enter descriptive information about your service. At a minimum, you need to provide a summary and tags for your service; this basic information is necessary for creating a service that people can discover (if you choose to make it searchable) as well as information on it's intended use.

Parameter Explanation

Summary (required)

The summary is populated from the tool's item description summary field. If this field is blank you will need to provide a summary here as it is a publishing requirement. The summary is limited to 250 characters. If your summary is longer than this you can use the Description box below to finish your Summary.

Tags (required)

The tags field is populated from the tool's item description tags field. If this field is blank you will need to provide one or more tags as it is a publishing requirement.

Description

Optional detailed description of your service.

Access and Use Constraints

Optional text describing the restrictions and legal prerequisites for accessing and using the map service. For example, you could specify a message stating: "For internal use only. Do not distribute."

Credits

Optional acknowledgment indicating who contributed to the geoprocessing service.
