Creating a new style

Available with 3D Analyst license.

Follow the steps below to create a new style file to hold custom symbols and 3D models.

  1. Click the Customize menu and click Style Manager.
  2. Click Styles and click Create New Style.
  3. Navigate to the desired directory.
  4. If you place new styles in the current style path, it will be immediatly accessible for referencing and symbol searching. The default location of the style path is <install directory>\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Styles folder.
  5. Type the name for the new style you're creating.
  6. Click Save.
Tip:
  • By default, the ESRI Styles folder is in the \Styles folder where ArcGIS is installed. Your personal style folder is in your user profile location, for example, C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\ESRI\Desktop10.0\ArcMap.
