Setting the illumination contrast in ArcScene

Available with 3D Analyst license.

In ArcScene you can set the lighting contrast, thereby using light and shading to add more realism to the time of day being displayed.

  1. In thetable of contents, right-click Scene layers and click Scene Properties.
  2. Click the Illumination tab.
  3. Type a contrast value.
  4. The contrast controls the amount of shading applied to a surface. No contrast is 0 on the contrast scale, where 10 is the highest contrast.
  5. Click OK.
