Zooming to a target in ArcCatalog

Available with 3D Analyst license.

You can zoom and center the 3D preview window in ArcCatalog to a specific location inside your 3D data.

To zoom to a 3D target in ArcCatalog, you must first enable the ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension and add the 3D View Tools or Globe View Tools toolbar. The 3D toolbars for interacting with the 3D preview in ArcCatalog can be added by clicking Customize > Toolbars > 3D View Tools, or Customize > Toolbars > Globe View Tools.

  1. Choose the data source in the navigation tree in ArcCatalog.
  2. Click the Preview tab.
  3. Click the Preview drop-down arrow and click Globe View or 3D View.
  4. Click the Zoom To Target Zoom To Target button.
  5. Click the part of the data that you want to zoom to.
