Selecting connected cells interactively

You can interactively select raster cells using the Select Connected Cells tool, which allows you to select raster cells using your pointer. You can click individual cells or drag a box around a group of connected cells to select them.

You can select cells from the foreground or background depending on your current interactive selection target. You can add to the selection by holding down the SHIFT key and selecting additional cells. Use the Clear Selected Cells command to clear the selection.

  1. Click the Select Connected Cells tool Select Connected Cells on the ArcScan toolbar.
  2. Click the connected cells or drag a box around them. The cells are highlighted in the current selection color. If you dragged a box, the other cells within the box are also selected.
