Changing the vectorization preview symbols

You can change the line and polygon symbols that are used for the vectorization process in the Vectorization Options dialog box. This allows you to customize the preview symbology so it will be differentiated from other feature layer symbology present in the map.

The Symbol Selector dialog box will appear when you click the symbol buttons located in the Preview Symbols section. For lines, you can change the symbol, color, and width. For polygons, you can change the symbol, fill color, outline width, and outline color.

  1. Click the Vectorization menu on the ArcScan toolbar.
  2. Click Options.
  3. Click Line or Polygon.
  4. In the Symbol Selector dialog box, click a new symbol or change specific properties of the symbol.

    Tip:
You can hide the preview symbols by setting the symbol color properties (for example, color, fill color, outline color) to No Color.

  5. Click OK on all dialog boxes.
