Restarting the Data Reviewer service

Available with Data Reviewer license.

Note:

ArcGIS 10.3 Data Reviewer is the final major release where the Data Reviewer service will be available. It is recommended that you migrate to a scheduled Windows task to run batch jobs on a regular schedule. For an example, see: Exercise 3: Running batch jobs as a scheduled task.

As needed, the service can also be restarted. This can be necessary when you change a setting in the service job file and want to implement it immediately, or if you make changes to the service configuration file. Restarting the service allows the service to start using the updated file immediately.

Note:

Changes to the service configuration or service job files do not take effect until the Data Reviewer service is restarted.

1. Browse to <installation location>\ArcGIS\ArcGISDataReviewer\Desktop10.3\Bin and double-click the ReviewerServiceController.exe file.

   The Data Reviewer Service Controller icon appears in the system tray.

2. Right-click the Data Reviewer Service Controller icon in the system tray and click Manage Service.

   The Reviewer Service Control dialog box appears.

   

3. Click the Restart the Service button .

   The service's status changes to Running.

4. Click the Close button .
