Storing the Reviewer workspace in a file geodatabase

Available with Data Reviewer license.

The Reviewer workspace is a geodatabase that contains the tables and feature dataset needed to store the results of your quality control workflows. The following process outlines the steps for setting up a Reviewer workspace when working with a file geodatabase.

Learn more about the different types of geodatabases.

Caution:

Directly editing the contents of the Reviewer workspace can corrupt the relationships between the tables and affect the overall workspace. It is recommended that you manage results using tools found in the Reviewer Table.

You can create the Reviewer workspace using the Enable Data Reviewer geoprocessing tool or by completing the following the steps.

  1. Start ArcMap.
  2. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Data Reviewer.
  3. Click the Reviewer Session Manager button Reviewer Session Manager on the Data Reviewer toolbar.

The Reviewer Session Manager dialog box appears.

  4. Browse to the file geodatabase that you want the Reviewer tables and feature datasets to be created in.
  5. Click Add.
  6. When the Data Reviewer message appears, click Yes to open the Enable Data Reviewer geoprocessing tool.

The Enable Data Reviewer dialog box appears with the Workspace automatically populated.

  7. Click the Properties button Properties next to the Coordinate System text box.

The Spatial Reference Properties dialog box appears.

  8. Choose the spatial reference you want to use with the Reviewer workspace.

    Note:

The spatial reference you select for the Reviewer workspace should match the spatial reference of the data you are validating. This allows error geometry to be stored in the feature classes within the Reviewer workspace.

  9. If necessary, update the configuration keyword option in the Select Configuration Keyword area.

  10. Click OK to enable the geodatabase to store Reviewer results.
  11. When the Enable Data Reviewer geoprocessing tool completes the operation, click Close.
  12. In the Reviewer Session Manager dialog box, in the Session area, click New.
  13. Click Start Session.
  14. The button name changes to End Session.
  15. Click Close to close the Reviewer Session Manager dialog box.
