Modeling semivariogram and covariance functions: Changing the lag size and number of lags

Available with Geostatistical Analyst license.

The lag size and number of lags determine how the semivariogram values are grouped and will affect the semivariogram graph and the model you fit to the empirical data.

  1. Type your desired value for Lag Size on the Semivariogram/Covariance Modeling dialog box.
  2. Click the up or down arrows or type the desired value to change the setting for Number of Lags.

The lag size multiplied by the number of lags should be less than one-half the largest distance in your dataset.
