DNC NIS geodatabase user
The DNC NIS administrator user is a data owner. Anybody connecting as the owner can delete DNC NIS tables or make schema changes. To protect DNC NIS, an editor user can be created to edit data.
For more information on creating login roles and group roles for users who will edit—but not create—data, see Add login roles to PostgreSQL and Privileges for geodatabases in PostgreSQL.
For example, create group roles called dncnis_editor_role and dncnis_viewer_role, and create login roles for editor and viewer users assigned to the appropriate group role.
Database connections for DNC NIS users
Database connections need to be created for other DNC NIS users. Create a database connection in ArcCatalog with the DNC NIS editor and viewer users, if applicable.
For more information, see Database connections in ArcGIS for Desktop.
