Loading network analysis objects using a geoprocessing tool

Available with Network Analyst license.

If you have records in a table, or features in a feature class that you want to load as network analysis objects, you can do so using the ArcMap interface or a geoprocessing tool. This topic describes how to access the geoprocessing tool.

It is assumed that you have started ArcMap or ArcCatalog.
  1. On the menu bar, click Geoprocessing > Search For Tools.

The dockable Search window opens with the Tools category selected.

  2. Click Network Analyst Tools in the list of toolboxes in the Search window.

A list of toolsets and tools related to the ArcGIS Network Analyst extension appears.

  3. Click Add Locations.

The Add Locations dialog box opens.

  4. Fill in the parameters for this tool.
  5. Learn more about the Add Locations tool

  6. Click OK.
