About specifying default schematic layer properties

There are two working ways to define default schematic layer properties:

  • They can be specified in the very early steps of the schematic diagram template configuration when using the Import From Feature Layers function.
  • They can also be specified later when schematic diagrams based on the diagram template have already been generated. In that case, schematic layer properties can be specified for a given generated schematic diagram, and those schematic layer properties can then be set as default layer properties for all the other diagrams by using the Import Default Symbology function.

Note:

There is also a Reset Default Symbology function available from Dataset Editor when right-clicking any schematic diagram template tree entry. This function allows you to reset the default schematic layer properties currently specified on a diagram template.
