Managing schematic diagram template default layer properties

A schematic diagram template allows you to generate a particular type of schematic diagrams containing a set of expected types of schematic features. It can also hold a set of layer properties defining the representation of feature layers that compose the schematic diagrams it implements, so it functions as the template for the display properties of these schematic diagrams. Those layer properties are the default schematic layer properties of the diagram template. Specifying default schematic layer properties for a diagram template allows all the schematic diagrams based on that diagram template to be represented in the same way.

Default schematic layer properties are specified within Schematic Dataset Editor at the diagram template level. There are two ways to configure them:

  • Using the Import From Feature Layers function
  • Using the Import Default Symbology function
