Moving a schematic folder

  1. Start ArcCatalog.
  2. Navigate to the schematic folder you want to move in the Catalog tree.
  3. Drag the selected schematic folder onto the target schematic dataset or schematic folder.

The schematic diagrams and subfolders contained in the schematic folder are moved to the target schematic dataset or schematic folder.

Note:

Because a schematic folder is dedicated to a particular schematic dataset, you cannot move a schematic folder from one schematic dataset to another.

Caution:

Because ArcGIS Schematics enforces the uniqueness of the schematic folder's name compared to the names of any schematic folder or diagram that already exists at the same level, you cannot move a schematic folder from any A level to B level if a schematic diagram or schematic folder already exists with the same name at the B level.

For example, in the following situation, with regard to the organization and current content of the schematic dataset, you cannot move the Test schematic folder into the Feeders schematic folder since this folder already contains a schematic subfolder called Test. Also, you cannot move this folder into the RecycleBin folder since there is a schematic diagram called Test in this folder.
