Accessing the Create Routes wizard

Note:

This wizard is only available in ArcCatalog.

All functionality available in the Create Routes wizard is available with the Create Routes tool in the Linear Referencing toolbox. It is recommended that you use the Create Routes tool rather than the Create Routes wizard when creating a route feature class from an existing line feature class.

Learn how to create routes from existing lines using the Create Routes geoprocessing tool

The Create Routes wizard can be added from the Customize dialog box in ArcCatalog. You can add this wizard to any of the drop-down menus or to any toolbar.

When the menu opens, you can drop the wizard anywhere within it.

  1. Customize > Customize Mode.
  2. Click the Commands tab.
  3. Scroll through the Categories list and click Linear Referencing.
  4. Click Create Routes Wizard and drag the icon to the Geography toolbar.
  5. Click Close.
