ML Classify function

Available with Spatial Analyst license.

The ML Classify function allows you to perform a supervised classification, using the maximum likelihood classification algorithm, on a raster dataset or mosaic dataset. This function requires a signature file that you can create using the Training Sample Manager on the Image Classification toolbar.

License:

This function requires the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst extension to be enabled.

The inputs for this function are the following:

  • Input raster
  • Signature file or URL to a signature file.

If you only have the string information for the signatures, then you first need to put the string information into a .gsg signature file.
