Mosaic Dataset Analyzer: Warning 71113

Available with Standard or Advanced license.

Warning

The mosaic dataset has Closest To Center as the default mosaic method.

Description

The mosaic dataset method determines the visibility of overlapping mosaic dataset items. The Closest To Center mosaic method is chosen by default when you create a mosaic dataset.

Solution

In the mosaic dataset default properties, change the default mosaic method. Be sure this is the optimal default mosaic method. For example, if your mosaic dataset contains date or cloud cover data in the attribute table, you may want to choose the By Attribute mosaic method and set the Order Base Value accordingly.

You can change this property by right-clicking the mosaic dataset in the Catalog window (or ArcCatalog) and clicking Properties. Then click the Defaults tab and click the button next to the Allowed Mosaic Methods to modify the defaults.
