Clearing the selected set in a table

Selection sets are a common input for data analysis and exploration in ArcGIS. When applying different queries to your data or performing analysis on your map, you need to be able to create and remove selections.

  1. Right-click the table or layer in the table of contents and choose Open Attribute Table.
  2. Click the Table Options button Table Options in the Table window and click Clear Selection Clear Selection.

    You can also right-click a box on the left side of the table view and click Clear Selection.

Note:
The Selection menu contains additional tools for selecting features.
Tip:
You can right-click the row button on the left side of the table and deselect individual records.
