Copying records for pasting into other applications

You can copy records from any attribute table and paste them into other applications by using the Copy Selected command. This command makes it easy to share your GIS data in a quick and simple way.

  1. Right-click the table or layer in the table of contents and choose Open Attribute Table.
  2. Select the desired records in the table.
  3. Right-click a box on the left side of the Table window and click Copy Selected.
  4. You can paste the records into another application, such as a text editor or spreadsheet program. You can also paste the records into a table in ArcMap if you are in an edit session.
Tip:

You can press CTRL+SHIFT+C to copy the selected records onto the clipboard.
