When creating a graph, values from a single field are chosen from the data source to create the graph. If desired, values from an additional field or fields can be displayed in the graph by adding the field or fields as a new series. Data values for each series can be derived from the same input dataset or from other data sources.

- Click the View menu, point to Graphs, then click Create Graph .
- Click the Graph Type drop-down arrow and choose the type of graph you want to create. In this example, choose Vertical Bar .
- Click the Layer/Table drop-down arrow and choose the layer (or table) you want to graph values from.
- Click the Color drop-down arrow and click the Custom option.
The color of the adjacent button is randomly determined initially and is applied to the first series in the graph. If you want to use a different color, click the Color button to open the color picker.
- Click the Value field drop-down arrow and choose the field you want to graph.
- Click the Add drop-down arrow at the bottom of the dialog box and click New Series. A tab appears for the new series. The dialog box settings now apply to the new series.
- Click the Graph type drop-down arrow again and choose the type of graph you want to use for the new series. In this example, use Vertical Bar again.
- Click the Layer/Table drop-down arrow to choose the data source of the series you want to add. It can be the same dataset you used for the first series or a different one altogether.
- Click the Color drop-down arrow and choose a different color to distinguish the new series from the original one.
- Click the Value field drop-down arrow and choose the field to graph in the new series.
- Click Next to move to the second page of the wizard.
- Type the title for the graph on the General Graph Properties dialog box.
- Click Finish.
