Giving a graph a 3D appearance

A graph can be given an extruded 3D-like visual effect.

The 3D view rarely provides meaningful information in a graph. It often makes visual comparisons difficult, particularly when using pie graphs or multiple series.

Tufte, E. R., The Visual Display of Quantitative Information, Graphics Press, 1983.

  1. Right-click on the graph window and click Properties.
  2. Click the Appearance tab.
  3. Click the Graph in 3D View button.
  4. Click Apply to preview or OK when done.

All the series in the graph are displayed as 3D.
