00007: Layer's definition query is invalid

  • Solutions
  • More information

Your document contains a layer with an invalid definition query. The query may be invalid due to the schema of the data source changing or it may be using incorrect syntax.

Solutions

  • Fix the syntax of the query definition.
  • Alternatively, you can add all the features back into the layer display. To do this, delete the query.
  • You can also choose to remove the layer from your document.

More information

If you only want to display features with certain attributes in a feature layer, you can apply a definition query to the layer. For example, you may want to display only cities with a population above a certain value. You enter a query expression to define your definition query.

To learn more about definition queries, see Displaying a subset of features in a layer.
