00018: Data frame uses a background symbol that is not a solid fill

  • Solution
  • More information

The symbol for the map background of your data frame is not a simple fill symbol and is therefore not supported for map services. You will need to turn the background off or change the background to a simple fill.

Solution

Turn the background off or change the symbol. See Customizing data frames for more information on the required steps.

More information

You can set a default map background color. Map services only supports simple fills for a background color because they give the best performance.

Here are the steps used to add a background color to a data frame:

Steps

  1. Right-click the data frame in the table of contents and click Properties.
  2. Click the Frame tab.
  3. Click the Background arrow and choose a solid background fill.
  4. Click OK to apply your settings.
