00038: Layer's workspace is currently being edited

  • Solutions
  • More information

Your basemap layer contains a layer whose data source is currently participating in an edit session. Basemap layers are incompatible with layers whose workspace is being actively edited.

Solutions

  • Stop editing the data source.
  • Alternatively, if you don't need this layer, you can remove it from the map.

More information

Basemap layers cache drawn content for fast map display. This cache can become out of date for layers that are being edited; therefore, data that is actively being edited cannot participate in a basemap layer. For more information on basemap layers, see Working with basemap layers.
