Setting a field alias in reports

There are many ways in which you can customize a report. Changing the names of fields in the report is one way to make a report easier to interpret.

If a field alias has already been set for the field, it will be used by the Report Wizard, whereas, the field aliases you set while creating a report will only apply to the report.

  1. Open a report in the Report Designer.
  2. Click the text label for the field name you want to change.
  3. Enter a new name in the Element Properties grid for the Text property.
