How to change the vertical exaggeration in ArcGlobe

Available with 3D Analyst license.

Follow the steps below to change the vertical exaggeration inside ArcGlobe to emphasize or understate the current vertical changes in the surface. The vertical exaggeration factor is applied to all data displayed on the globe surface, displayed as floating layers, or both.

1. Right-click Globe layers in the ArcGlobe table of contents and click Globe Properties.
2. Click the General tab.
3. Click the Vertical Exaggeration of globe surface drop-down arrow and click a factor to exaggerate the globe surface.
This will exaggerate the elevation layers in the 3D view and therefore all layers draped on them.
4. Click the Vertical Exaggeration of floating layers drop-down arrow and click a factor to exaggerate floating layers.

   This will exaggerate layers in the Floating category only.

5. Optionally, click Calculate Value to automatically calculate an exaggeration factor based on the extent of all the data currently displayed in the 3D view.
6. Click OK.
