Rendering a layer only when navigation is stopped

Available with 3D Analyst license.

Use the steps below to configure ArcScene to display a layer only when you have stopped interactively navigating the scene. This is useful for large or complex datasets that are impacting the speed and performance of your computer's resources.

1. In the ArcScene table of contents, right-click the layer and click Properties.
2. Click the Rendering tab.
3. Click the option Render layer only while navigation has stopped.
4. Click OK.
