About the AGV file video metadata tags

Available with 3D Analyst license.

  • The available video metadata tags

The metadata section of the AGV file is optional and is designed to contain general information describing the video.

The available video metadata tags

The <Name> and <Description> tags are the two available video metadata tags for AVG files.

Video metadata tagDescription
<Name>
  • This is the initial display name of the video layer in the ArcGlobe table of contents.
  • The name can be changed at any time inside ArcGlobe without updating the AGV file.
  • If no name is provided in the AGV file, a default one is automatically provided.
  • The layer name property persists in the ArcGlobe document and will override any value inside the AGV file when the document (or layer file) is reopened.
<Description>
  • This area contains more detailed information for the layer's description on the Globe General tab of the Layer Properties dialog box.
  • The description can be changed at any time inside ArcGlobe without updating the AGV file.
  • The description property persists in the ArcGlobe document and will override any value inside the AGV file when the document (or layer file) is reopened.

Example video metadata

<MetaData>
<Name>Security Camera - BuildingF</Name>
<Description>This camera covers the north
entrance to Building F and cannot be moved interactively by
security staff. The camera is <model type> and was installed
on <Date>. {etc} </Description>
</MetaData>
