The following changes in ArcGIS for Maritime: Bathymetry were released.
New at 10.5.1
- The Explore Bathymetry window in ArcGIS for Maritime: Bathymetry now allows you to remove obsolete datasets from the Bathymetry Information System (BIS) that are referenced in your saved surface models. For more information, see Removing bathymetry data from the BIS geodatabase.
- The Define Bathymetry geoprocessing tool now allows you to use the default metadata values defined in your BIS when importing bathymetry data programmatically.
New at 10.5
Geoprocessing
Two new tools were added to the Data Export toolset:
- Export Footprints—An ArcGIS geoprocessing tool that exports the very finely detailed data area for each source dataset in a BIS or surface model to a polygon feature class
- Export Deconflicted Footprints—An ArcGIS geoprocessing tool that exports nonoverlapping polygon features representing the deconflicted data area of each source dataset in a surface model
Enhancements
- ArcGIS for Maritime: Bathymetry now recognizes hyperlinks to web or network locations that are entered within the body of metadata text fields. When clicked, the hyperlinks open with Windows Explorer, any Internet browser, or a specific application to open the file extension.
- The Explore Bathymetry Preview and Compose Surface Preview mosaic layers are now updated automatically to reflect only those datasets that appear in the Filtered Datasets and Sorted Datasets lists. See Previewing filtered bathymetry and Previewing ordered bathymetry.
- Clicking a dataset to select it in the Filtered Datasets or Sorted Datasets list selects its associated footprint on the map. Likewise, selecting a dataset's footprint from the Explore Bathymetry Preview or Compose Surface Preview mosaic layer highlights the associated dataset in the Filtered Datasets or Sorted Datasets list.
- Help topics have been made more accessible from directly within the relevant ArcGIS for Maritime: Bathymetry dialog boxes. These hyperlinks take users directly to the help topic that provides additional detail on the options within the current dialog box, pane, or tab.
- Several buttons have been removed from the Compose Surface dialog box and are now incorporated as list options in the context menu that appears when right-clicking a dataset in the Sorted Datasets list. This includes the Move To Top, Move To Bottom, and Remove Selected buttons.
- You can now manually drag a dataset to a new position in the Sorted Datasets list.
- New label counts have been added in the Explore Bathymetry and Compose Surface windows to convey the number of datasets that are selected in either the Filtered Datasets or Sorted Datasets list.
- New toggling options allow you to view all datasets in the Filtered Datasets and Sorted Datasets lists and just those datasets that are currently selected.
