Creating the Production Mapping workspace in an enterprise geodatabase

Available with Production Mapping license.

After the SQL Server database has been created, you can load the schema and data so the Esri Production Mapping workspace can be used in your editing and cartographic workflows.

A schema can be imported into a geodatabase in several different ways. It depends on whether there is already an existing schema that you want to import or if one needs to be created. Below are scenarios for importing schemas and where to find more information on completing the process.

ScenarioWhere to find more information

You have an existing XML workspace document with the schema and, optionally, data.

  • Importing a geodatabase schema from an XML workspace document
  • Import Replica Schema
  • Import XML Workspace Document geoprocessing tool

You are mapping between two different data sources or schemas.
