The following sections describe what is new at each release.
What's new at 10.5.1
Option to not update calibration points during cartographic realignment
When making a cartographic realignment, any calibration points on the cartographically realigned portion of the route are either proportionally snapped or deleted based on the selection by the editor. In certain situations, an editor may prefer to not have the same rule applied to all the calibration points impacted by the cartographic realignment. When this situation arises during a cartographic realignment, there is now an option in the advanced LRS editing options named Do not update calibration points as part of a cartographic realignment. When this option is chosen, any calibration points in the cartographically realigned segment will not be moved. This will allow the editor to decide what to do with each calibration point individually (delete, move to a certain location, retire, and so on).
Option to not apply event behaviors to manual calibration point changes
If you manage many calibration points on routes in your networks, there may be situations where the measure of a calibration point is incorrect, but the events on the routes were collected with the correct measures. When updating the calibration point measure, event behaviors would apply, resulting in events being shifted or having measures updated to an incorrect value. When these situations arise during editing of calibration points, there is now an option in the advanced LRS editing options named Do not apply event behaviors for manual calibration point changes. When this option is chosen, manual calibration point edits (such as editing measures, moving calibration points, adding new calibration points, and deleting existing calibration points) will still result in routes being recalibrated. However, instead of having event measure behaviors applied to all the events, no behaviors will be applied and the events will only have their shapes regenerated.
What's new at 10.5
Internationalization
Esri Roads and Highways now supports translation into languages other than English.
Deprecated
The Update Shapes option, when right-clicking an event within the Catalog window, has been replaced with the Generate Events geoprocessing tool. The tool supports regenerating event shapes within a Roads and Highways event feature class. Advantages of the Generate Events tool include support for selection sets and definition queries and the ability to script the tool through Python.
Esri Roads and Highways for Server
The 10.5 version of Roads and Highways for Server is available on the ArcGIS Server site.
Roadway Characteristics Editor replaced by Event Editor
Esri Roads and Highways for Server includes Event Editor, which replaces Roadway Characteristics Editor for web-based event data editing. For more information, see What is Event Editor?
