Changing defaults for 3D point, line, or polygon graphics in ArcScene

Available with 3D Analyst license.

You can set the default symbol properties for 3D graphics ahead of time so your points, lines, polygons, and text graphics draw a certain way every time.

In addition to color, size and symbol choice, you can also set default viewing options and illumination properties for different graphic elements.

  1. Click Graphics on the 3D Graphics toolbar and click Default Symbol Properties.
  2. Click the Marker, Line, or Fill button to set default properties for a point, line, or polygon symbol, respectively.

The Symbol Selector dialog box opens.

  3. Click the symbol you want to use or click Style References to access additional symbol styles.
  4. Click Color or Size to change the color or size of a symbol.
  5. Optionally, click Edit Symbol to access additional symbol properties.
  6. Click OK on all dialog boxes.
