Reducing the 3D view extent using coordinates

Available with 3D Analyst license.

To help with performance or to work with data that covers disparate areas, you can limit the extent of the data being displayed inside ArcScene by specifying a set of coordinates.

  1. In the ArcScene table of contents, right-click Scene layers and click Scene Properties.
  2. Click the Extent tab.
  3. Click Custom.
  4. Type minimum and maximum x- and y-values to define the extent of the scene.
  5. Data that falls at least partially within this extent will be rendered.
  6. Click OK.
