Deleting a geodatabase from a database server deletes the geodatabase. When you delete the geodatabase, the entire database no longer exists on the SQL Server Express instance. This is different than deleting a connection under the Database Connections node or deleting a database server connection. Therefore, only delete a geodatabase if you are certain you will never need it or the data it contains.
You must be a server administrator to delete a geodatabase from a database server.
- Log in as a server administrator, start ArcMap, and open the Catalog window.
- Double-click the database server that contains the geodatabase you want to delete.
This connects you to the database server.
- Right-click the geodatabase and click Delete.
