Summary
Copies parcels from the input parcel fabric dataset or layer to a new parcel fabric.
Usage
If there is a selection present on the parcels sublayer, only the selected parcels are copied to the output parcel fabric.
To overwrite an existing parcel fabric instead of creating a new parcel fabric, choose Overwrite the outputs of geoprocessing operations on the Geoprocessing Options dialog box. To open the Geoprocessing Options dialog box, click the Geoprocessing menu in ArcMap and click Geoprocessing Options.
In Python, set arcpy.env.overwriteOutput = True.
Syntax
CopyParcelFabric(in_parcels, output_parcels, {config_keyword})
Parameter | Explanation | Data Type |
in_parcels | The parcels to be copied to another parcel fabric. | Parcel Fabric Layer |
output_parcels | The new parcel fabric to which the parcels will be copied. If the parcel fabric exists and you have chosen to overwrite the outputs of geoprocessing operations by setting arcpy.env.overwriteOutput to True, the existing parcel fabric will be overwritten with a new parcel fabric containing the copied parcels. | Parcel Fabric |
config_keyword (Optional) | Specifies the storage parameters (configuration) for parcel fabrics in file and ArcSDE geodatabases. Personal geodatabases do not use configuration keywords. ArcSDE configuration keywords for ArcSDE Enterprise Edition are set up by your database administrator. | String |
Code sample
CopyParcelFabric example 1 (Python window)
The following Python window script demonstrates how to use the CopyParcelFabric tool in immediate mode.
import arcpy
arcpy.env.workspace = "C:/data/OaklandCounty.gdb"
arcpy.CopyParcelFabric_fabric ("/Parceldata/ParcelFabric", "/SubdivisionData/SubdivisionFabric",)
CopyParcelFabric example 2 (stand-alone Python script)
The following Python script demonstrates how to use the CopyParcelFabric tool in a stand-alone script.
#Name: Copy Parcels.py
# Description: Copies a smaller subset of a parcel fabric to a new parcel fabric.
# Import system modules
import arcpy
from arcpy import env
# Set workspace
env.workspace = "E:\City\LocalGovernment.gdb\ParcelEditing"
# Set local variables
in_data = "Parcel_FabricSub"
out_data = " E:\County\LocalGovernment.gdb\ParcelEditing\Parcel_Fabric"
# Execute Copy Parcels
arcpy.CopyParcelFabric_fabric(in_data, out_data,)
Environments
This tool does not use any geoprocessing environments.
