Zooming to the extent of a layer

  1. Right-click the layer or layers to which you want to zoom and click Zoom To Layer.
Tip:
  • You can also hold down the Alt key and click the name of a layer in the table of contents to zoom to the extent of that layer.
  • If your map has more than one data frame, panning and zooming will occur in the active data frame. In layout view, clicking a data frame will activate it.
  • To select a layer in the table of contents, click it. Hold down the Shift or Ctrl key to select multiple layers.
