Authorizing the software

Available with Production Mapping license.

Mapping and Charting Solutions use your current ArcGIS license system and require authorization to be activated. You need to add the individual Mapping and Charting Solutions features to the ArcGIS License Manager. Once your license manager has been updated, you can activate the features through the Extensions dialog box in ArcGIS Desktop. For example, if you have purchased ArcGIS Defense Mapping, the Defense Mapping, Production Mapping, Data Reviewer, and Workflow Manager features would need to be added to the license manager.

All Mapping and Charting solutions support single-use and concurrent licenses; however, the license types must match across products. For instance, you cannot authorize ArcGIS Desktop with a concurrent license and ArcGIS Production Mapping with a single-use license.
