Sets texture compression type of a layer.

Parameters pLayer [in]
pLayer is a parameter of type ILayer [in]
is a parameter of type esriTextureFormatType

Product Availability

Available with ArcGIS Engine, ArcGIS Desktop, and ArcGIS Server.

Remarks

 The JPEG compression is the default compression type in memory and persistence.  DXT is optional at runtime; it takes advantage of the graphic card capability and may improve runtime performance significantly.  Try different texture compression type in combination of different texture down-sampling factor for acceptable performance and visual quality.  Change of texture compression type does not affect texture visual quality.
