Description

The IRouteMeasureCreator2 interface allows you to create route features at a feature class level. 

Routes can be created from a line feature class in three different ways depending on how the measures are to be set. 

• CreateUsingCoordinatePriority - measures are set using one field from the input feature class. Measures will be accumulated from the origin point.
• CreateUsing2Fields - measures are set using two fields from the input feature class which represent the from and to measure values.
• CreateUsingPoints - measures are set by calibration points.  Points reside in a point feature class which contains the route identifier each point refers to and the measure value at that location.

The InputFeatureClass property is used to set the line feature class the routes are to be created from.  The InputRouteIDFieldName property is used to specify the field name from the input feature class from which lines will be aggregated to compose a route. 

If not all of the line features are desired for route creation, the InputFeatureSelection property can be used to specify an ISelectionSet.

The methods on this interface improve upon those on IRouteMeasureCreator. A measure factor can be applied to the measure values. This is useful for converting between measure units. For example, to convert from feet to miles, you would specify a factor of 0.00018939394.

Measure values can also be offset. This is useful when you want your output routes to have a minimum measure other than 0.
