Working with ArcCatalog

About working with ArcCatalog

ArcCatalog is the core application for performing data management tasks with ArcGIS. You can manage data through various types of connections, including local folders, network locations, enterprise databases, or on servers.
There are many types of data that ArcCatalog does not inherently know about. As a result, it is common to extend ArcCatalog to be able to browse to and preview custom objects. To begin to work with new data types in ArcCatalog, you will need to create a custom GxObject. To fully integrate your custom data type in ArcCatalog, you can create custom GxFilters for browsing and GxPreviews for previewing.
