Supported database versions

The following SAP HANA versions and service pack releases are supported for use with ArcGIS:

SAP HANA 1.0 SPS09 - SPS12

SAP HANA 2.0 SPS02 - SPS04

SAP HANA 2.0 SPS05 - and later service pack releases*

*Supported for ArcGIS 10.8.1 and ArcGIS Pro 2.6 and 2.7 only.

Supported operating systems

DatabaseSupported Operating Systems

SAP HANA 1.0 SPS09 - SPS12

SAP HANA 2.0 SPS02 and later service pack releases

SAP HANA is available either in the cloud or as a pre-configured system on Linux. Contact SAP for the available configurations.

Database requirements/limitations

  • The minimum database version supported for branch versioning is SAP HANA 2.0 SPS02.
  • When using SAP HANA 1.0 SPS09 - SPS12, ODBC connections must set parameter SPATIALTYPES=1
  • The minimum database version supported for geodatabase functionality is SAP HANA 2.0 SPS02.
    Note:

You cannot create or connect to geodatabases in SAP HANA from ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcGlobe, or ArcScene.

Cloud support

See Requirements for using ArcGIS with databases in the cloud for information on support for database services and databases deployed in the cloud.

Software required to connect to a DBMS

Your ArcGIS client machines that connect to SAP HANA—for example, the ones running ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, or ArcGIS Server—must have a supported SAP HANA client installed and configured.

SAP HANA clients are available to existing SAP users from the SAP Support Portal under Software Downloads.

Install a version of the SAP HANA client that is supported for the version of SAP HANA to which you connect.

Note:

If you install SAP HANA client version 2.4, you must apply revision patch 186 (2.04.186). If you install SAP HANA client version 2.5, the minimum supported revision patch is 109 (2.05.109).

Install 32- and 64-bit applications and clients on separate machines to avoid issues that arise when different versions of the same drivers are installed on the same machine.
