Editing the altitude text in an instrument approach profile view

The Altitude Editor tool allows you to edit the altitude text by adding heights above the airport (QFE) and horizontal lines that indicate mandatory, minimum, and maximum altitudes. If a horizontal line is drawn by default when the instrument approach profile view is created, the Altitude Editor tool allows you to override the automated over/underlining.

1. Start ArcMap.
2. On the main menu, click View > Layout View.
3. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Aviation Terminal Procedure.
4. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Aviation Profile Edit.
5. Click the Edit Instrument Approach Profile button on the Aviation Terminal Procedure toolbar.
6. Select an altitude text element.

   

   The Altitude Editor tool is enabled.

7. Click the Altitude Editor button on the Aviation Profile Edit toolbar.

   The Altitude Editor dialog box appears and is automatically populated with the selected altitude text.

   

8. Type the altitude text you want to display.

   Astuce:

   You can add multiple altitude text values by using a semicolon (;) to separate them.

9. Click the appropriate option to specify whether the altitude is mandatory, minimum, maximum, or recommended.
10. Type the QFE height if necessary.
11. Check the Intercept Arrow check box if you want to add a glideslope intercept arrow to the instrument approach profile view.
12. Click Ok.

The altitude text changes based on the parameters you defined.

Astuce:

The length of the intercept arrow can be changed by moving the related altitude text.

Astuce:

To move the intercept arrowhead independently of the text with which it is associated, select the altitude text and the node with which the arrowhead is associated and click the Unrelate Elements button on the Aviation Profile Edit toolbar. You can then select the node and move it to another location. Refresh the view to see the updated arrowhead location. Neither the text nor the end of the arrow will move.
