Définition
La fonction ST_IsEmpty renvoie 1 (Oracle et SQLite) ou t (PostgreSQL) si l'objet ST_Geometry est vide. Dans le cas contraire, elle renvoie 0 (Oracle et SQLite) ou f (PostgreSQL).

L'instruction CREATE TABLE ci-dessous crée la table empty_test avec la valeur geotype, qui stocke le type de données des sous-classes stockées dans la colonne g1.
Les instructions INSERT insèrent deux enregistrements pour chacune des sous-classes de géométrie point, linestring et polygon : une sous-classe est vide et l'autre ne l'est pas.
La requête SELECT retourne le type de géométrie de la colonne geotype et les résultats de la fonction ST_IsEmpty.
