Définition
ST_GeometryType accepte un objet géométrie et retourne son type de géométrie (par exemple, un point, une ligne, un polygone ou un multi-point) sous forme de chaîne.

st_geometrytype (g1 geometryblob)
Type de retour
Varchar(32) (Oracle et PostgreSQL) ou texte (SQLite) contenant un des éléments suivants :
- ST_Point
- ST_LineString
- ST_Polygon
- ST_MultiPoint
- ST_MultiLineString
- ST_MultiPolygon
Exemple
La table geometrytype_test contient la colonne de géométrie g1.
Les instructions INSERT suivantes insèrent les différentes sous-classes de géométrie dans la colonne g1.
La requête SELECT répertorie le type de géométrie de chaque sous-classe stockée dans la colonne de géométrie g1.
