Distributing Task Assistant Manager files

When distributing Task Assistant Manager files, you will want to include the following:

  • The relevant ArcMap document, including customization data, if appropriate
  • Custom style files
  • Task assistant workflow files

You may distribute these files as necessary via ZIP file, using copy/paste, or as an installation executable.

Custom node styles must be distributed with the task assistant workflow that references them if you want the workflow to display with the same node style icons. Opening the workflow in Task Assistant Manager causes the associated custom style file to be automatically read and the custom styles to be imported. If the style file is not available or cannot be loaded, the step with the custom node style will revert to its appropriate default node style (the root, parent, or task style).

  1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the location of your saved task assistant workflow, ArcMap document, and style file.
  2. Use the usual methods available to you to distribute these files; for example, ZIP files or installation executable.
  3. Associate the workflow with the MXD using either of the following steps:
    • Use the Configuration Manager utility on the user (target) machine to associate the task assistant workflow with the MXD. See Associating workflows with map documents for all users.
    • Associate the workflow with the MXD using Task Assistant Manager; see Associating workflows with map documents for the current user.
  4. Remarque :

Any custom node styles used by the workflow are automatically loaded into the Task Assistant window when the workflow file is opened.
