Using the Layout window to select elements

You can use the Layout window to select page layout elements.

1. Start ArcMap.
2. On the main menu, click Customize > Toolbars > Production Cartography.
3. If necessary, click the Layout window button on the Production Cartography toolbar to display the Layout window.
4. Do one of the following to select elements on the Layout window:

   To select a single element	Click a single element in the Elements list.
   To select multiple elements that are not consecutive	Press and hold the CTRL key and click several elements to select multiple elements.
   To select multiple elements that are consecutive	Click an element, press and hold the SHIFT key, and click another element to select all elements between the two.
   To select all the elements	Right-click in the Layout window and click Select All Elements.

   The selected elements are highlighted in the page layout with dotted lines and handles.

   To unselect all elements, right-click in the Layout window and click Unselect All Elements.

   To zoom the page layout to the extent of all selected elements, right-click in the Layout window and click Zoom to Selected Elements.
