Location Referencing in ArcMap
You can choose to install the following licensed products with Location Referencing Desktop:
- ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing Desktop
- ArcGIS Roads and Highways Desktop
Location Referencing in ArcGIS Pro
Much of the Location Referencing functionality is available natively in ArcGIS Pro and only requires the Location Referencing Desktop license feature to enable.
ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing: All desktop functionality required for Pipeline Referencing is available in ArcGIS Pro as Location Referencing. If you publish your location referencing services using ArcGIS Pro, you do not need to install ArcGIS Pipeline Referencing Desktop (ArcMap).
ArcGIS Roads and Highways: The Location Referencing functionality available in ArcGIS Pro to support Roads and Highways continues to expand and is designed to support branch versioning and service-based editing. Due to the differences in how traditional- and branch-versioned data is viewed, edited, and stored in the database, users only need one desktop version of Roads and Highways, either ArcGIS Pro for use with branched versioning or ArcMap for use with traditional versioning. If you are utilizing Location Referencing functionality for Roads and Highways in ArcGIS Pro, you do not need to install ArcGIS Roads and Highways Desktop (ArcMap).
